Rare Gem

Okay, this isn't going to be a gem. I just wanted to pop in once again with a little update.

T and I found a sweet apartment just 4 blocks from the water, 1 block from major bus routes from downtown, and 2 blocks from a delicious yet semi-expensive sushi restaurant. I think that they miss me over at Musashi.

Work/life balance is starting to work itsself out. I've stopped having crazy dreams about how I'm going to make things work/fix things that may or may not be broken, and am now at a place where I can enjoy my weekends without fear of checking my email and finding something that will make me freak out. (Now I just don't think about checking my email at all.)

I am, however, re-inspired to start reading some of my old college books that I studied, but never actually opened. Most of all, I am realizing that those 4-5 years I spent trying to undo my miseducation (re-education summarized neatly in this book) wasn't completely in vain. Even though I had a hard time retaining all the fancy words, names, theories, etc. , I still retained most of the main ideas and critical thinking skills. I dunno. I still feel out of practice though.

Anyway, just found a picture of one of the most influential teachers I've ever had: see Unsoeld.
Wonder what that old hippie is up to now. :)
