This cupcake is sub-par

Ok, so I'm a glutton. For breakfast I had: 2 fried drumsticks from QFC. For snack: beef jerky - cardboard style (my favorite-next to my Mom's). For lunch: a spinach and feta croissant pastry, a tall latte, and a mini-cupcake.

Let me tell you about the cupcake. The frosting, which ususally tastes like chocolate mousse, tasted like playdough. No wonder it was the only white with brown frosting cupcake left in the window. F'in reject.

Anyway - work has been busy and I have been busy collecting overtime. Also been painting with L and watching Lost and Firefly.
(Don't worry, BP, I'll call you when/if there is a real painting party at my new place. )

Other than that, the days have been going fast, and thank goodness because I'm low on cash. This is the reason why:

I also have that dent on the driver's side door that is becoming a nuisance as I now have to force my driver's side window to close using brute strength (and sharp wit).
I went to my secret volvo mechanic (who remembered me, so I must be a regular now) and he told me it'd be cheaper to replace the door. It'll be about $130 bucks if I don't have to paint it. I don't have that kind of money laying around though - gotta save it for surprise bills, so I'll just live with the dent for awhile. I'm also supposed to try and get my suspension checked out which means a trip to Midas where I got my muffler fixed so they don't charge me for a diagnostic fee. Bollocks.

oh well - once I get into my new place I won't have to drive 30 min to and from work, I'll use my feet. And maybe I'll steal T's bike, but I haven't asked him yet, so don't tell him. I guess then it wouldn't be stealing...

hmm. well in the grand scheme of things - we're all just dust, so whatever. (<---that was really just an excuse to link. I like space and shiny things.)

Watch Arrested Development!

The premiere is on at 8 on monday!!! Arrested Development is the best comedy on tv right now so watch it so it doesn't get cancelled!

since I've been gone, I'll make the updates brief since there are many

1. Kanye West maybe isn't as eloquent as I had previously thought when speaking - but it's all good because he rhymes about stuff that matters and I saw him doing an interview with Sway on MTV telling fellow hip-hoppers to stop discriminating against gay people. WORD! Kanye has officially won my full support.

2. I got a new apartment! I move in Oct 3rd and start being poor again - but perhaps a poor adult ????

3. Uh... maybe not all that much has happened. Oh yeah, I can't believe i'll be 25 in a few days. scary.

That's enough. I need sleep to recover from my cold.

Painting again

Please excuse the glare.

Kanye was right

of course, it all goes deeper. It's almost time to stop watching the news - but not out of indifference.

ps. Let me just add: I know that Kanye, hip hop star, producer, artist, is an eloquent man. I also know how it feels to have so much despair, longing, anger, disgrace, sadness, and helplessness condensed into one black hole of an emotion that sits in your heart and implodes, sucking in all other emotions - leaving you with only the moral sense that "this is wrong" and a complete inability to output the whirling tirade in your head into a condensed clear message that can be fully understood by other humans. I think he did good.

Overextended?

I hear Bush's approval ratings are going down. I think Nature might have particiapated in that poll.

So...why isn't the hurricane fallout officially a "national emergency?" or is it already?
With so much chaos in New Orleans, you'd think that Bush would spring to action to prevent a breeding ground of terrorists from forming...Right? Because that's what he cares about. Terrorism. Is that what it would take to get a better response? Someone whisper in his ear that it was actually a well-calculated Al-Quaida attack.

Well to be fair, I'm sure he was very upset when air force one flew over New Orleans, but something tells me the lack of response was due at least some of the following - cockiness and the myth that is America is untouchable, scarcitiy of military resources, and an emotional removal from his constituents. For F*s sake, he wouldn't even talk to the mother of a soldier that died under his watch and to be fair, he can't talk to everyone whose child dies in the war, but not all that many ask for him. It's like we're his parents and he's not doing what he should just because someone told him to. Rebellious actions for the sake of pride only hurt yourself, George.

I was watching BBC and the commentator said something to the effect of, "the richest country of the world" can't even take care of our people. guilty! *raises hand*
